The Westfir City Council approved Resolution 563 on Feb. 3, 2025, to declare the city’s 1997 Ford F-150 surplus and authorize its sale. Councilors reviewed a packet email from former Councilor Kelly Packard describing the truck’s condition and providing a range of Kelley Blue Book value estimates; the council noted a 2021 repair invoice for a head gasket replacement.
The council set a minimum bid price of $1,200 and Mayor Richard Watson moved to approve the resolution; Councilor Deretta Huey seconded and the motion carried, 3–0. The packet did not include a reserve sale date; staff will follow standard surplus-property procedures to advertise and accept bids.
The council did not discuss specific disposal vendors during the meeting. The 1997 F-150 and its repair history are recorded in the council packet materials and will be included in the surplus property listing.
