The Westfir City Council unanimously appointed two former city officials to the Budget Committee at its Feb. 3 meeting. Councilor Deretta Huey moved to appoint Kelly Packard and D’Lynn Williams to three-year terms; Councilor Linda M. Love seconded and the motion carried, 3–0.
City Recorder Nicole Tritten told the council she was considering only Budget Committee appointments at this time. The appointments fill seats that the council described in its packet materials as needed for the upcoming budget cycle. The council did not discuss alternate nominees and took the vote at the meeting without public comment.
The appointments were approved on a 3–0 vote (Watson, Huey, Love). The council packet lists letters of interest from both Packard and Williams; next steps will be for the appointees to receive formal notice and for the Budget Committee to begin work ahead of the FY budget schedule.
