Oakridge Fire Chief briefed Westfir council on preparedness, volunteer recruitment

Fire Chief Scott Hollett joined by phone to present the November 2024 Fire & EMS report. He reported a small repair to the Westfir engine and that a staff member sought $50 reimbursement from Westfir; he also told the council OFD has trained a new group of volunteers and is fully staffed following that training.
Chief Hollett said the City of Oakridge developed a draft response plan in collaboration with the Southern Willamette Forest Collaborative and that the department is "also working to develop a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)." Councilor Watson expressed interest in representing Westfir in the disaster-preparedness group and OFD indicated it hoped to recruit Westfir volunteers for ongoing operations.
