Westfir council accepts cultural resources survey for Confluence (Turtle Island) Park

The Westfir City Council accepted the final cultural resources survey for Turtle Island Park (referred to in minutes as Confluence Park) during its Dec. 11 meeting. Mayor D’Lynn Williams moved to accept the University of Oregon report, Councilor Edward Johnstone seconded, and the motion carried 4–0.
The minutes state the report found no cultural artifacts that would prevent development of the park. The acceptance formally places the survey in the city record and clears a listed cultural-resources concern for the project as described in the survey.
