Police chief reports 34 community referrals, hiring update and upcoming retirement

Chief Littlefield thanked Rick Moreau for new painting at the police building and acknowledged cooperation from the Recreation and Fire departments during July 4 events. He reported that staff member Katie Billodeau has made 34 referrals for family support, food-insecurity help, medical and mental-health services, and described multiple success stories for community members.
Littlefield said he is in the process of hiring a new administrative assistant. He also said there has been no progress on filling an open police-officer position and that Sergeant Pearley will retire at the end of the year, creating another vacancy the town will need to post.
