County grants manager Christina Marshall told commissioners that the Wyoming Department of Health has awarded Sweetwater County a four‑year Community Services Block Grant in a not‑to‑exceed amount of $1,008,099. The award covers July 1 start through federal fiscal cycles and will be passed through to outside agencies after the Tripartite Board solicits projects and reviews itemized budgets.
"The Wyoming Department of Health awarded Sweetwater County $1,008,099 in community services block grant funding for a 4 year period," Marshall said, explaining the award requires no cash match and that annual planning documents and budgets are due each August 25. Commissioners voted unanimously to approve the agreement and authorized the chairman to sign related documents.
Marshall said the county's Tripartite Board will review projects at its August 11 meeting and recommended subcontracts will come back to the commission for final approval in September. The grant term is contingent on federal funding levels and includes new data‑security attachments.
