Sweetwater County commissioners voted unanimously to approve the Wyoming Department of Health's FY26 contract with Southwest Counseling, the nonprofit that delivers behavioral‑health services in the county. CEO Linda Acre told the board the contract covers clinical assessments, substance‑use evaluations, case management, peer support, crisis services and residential programming provided in Sweetwater County.
"It is for a total of 9,510,216.61," Linda Acre said when summarizing the contract figures; she noted approximately $1 million is pass‑through funding that goes to services in neighboring Uinta County under inter‑county arrangements. Commissioners discussed program delivery, opioid‑settlement funding and BHR drawdown mechanics; the board approved the main contract and later approved an extension amendment for certain residential bed and subacute services.
Commissioners emphasized the program's community role, discussed opioid settlement and BHR funding mechanics and noted continuing conversations about access and reimbursement rates under the behavioral‑health redesign. The approvals were unanimous.
