Conservation Commission urges Planning Board to defer Ambrose Excavation and White Lake Woods approvals until state review

At its July 13 meeting, the Tamworth Conservation Commission reviewed recent Planning Board activity and recommended the Planning Board defer conditional approvals on two pending matters until required state permitting and ecological reviews are completed. Representative Larry Nickerson said the Planning Board continued Ambrose Excavation pending submission of an alteration of terrain application, groundwater information, and updated bonding; he also said White Lake Woods LLC was continued to the Planning Board meeting on July 22, 2026, with revised plans showing a 100-meter buffer around the largest bog pond.
The Commission reaffirmed its earlier recommendation to the Planning Board that conditional approval should wait for State permitting and a New Hampshire Natural Heritage Bureau ecological review. Ned Beecher said the Commission will send a letter documenting those recommendations to the Planning Board for consideration.
