The Oklahoma Corporation Commission took multiple procedural and substantive steps in Case No. PUD2025-000084, involving Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company’s request for Commission preapproval of new generation capacity and rider cost recovery under 17 O.S. § 286(C) and related rules.
The Commission first voted unanimously to grant the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Motion for Oral Argument. Counsel then presented oral arguments on exceptions filed by the Oklahoma Attorney General and the Petroleum Alliance of Oklahoma to an ALJ Report and Recommendation regarding a joint motion to dismiss for lack of subject‑matter jurisdiction. After argument and discussion the Commission voted unanimously to deny the exceptions to the ALJ’s Report and Recommendation. The minutes record multiple recorded recesses during the merits hearing; Administrative Law Judge Carly Ortel took witness testimony throughout the day and ultimately took the matter under advisement at the conclusion of testimony.
Recorded votes on procedural motions were unanimous: Commissioners Kim David, J. Todd Hiett and Brian Bingman each recorded 'Aye' on the AG motion for oral argument and on the motion to deny the exceptions. The hearing record remains open for the OC C docket; the ALJ will issue a recommendation after reviewing the testimony and filings.
