County approves TMCA director pay adjustment and launches IT internship program

Staff explained TMCA is an intergovernmental entity serving Franklin and Fulton counties and that TMCA covers 100% of staffing costs under the intergovernmental arrangement; the board approved the request.
Separately, the board approved a temporary nonexempt IT intern position in partnership with Franklin County Career and Tech to provide hands-on experience for students and create a pipeline for future hires. Commissioners supported the initiative, noting past successful hires from vocational programs and cautioning that initial oversight and mentoring will be required.
Both actions were approved by the board during the salary-board and personnel segments.
