UAC to help small counties with RDA reporting; commissioners discuss affordable workforce housing

County staff reported that the Utah Association of Counties (UAC) will provide support to smaller counties for Redevelopment Agency (RDA) recording and annual tax-collection reporting, reducing the administrative burden unless a taxing event is triggered. "UAC is gonna start helping to take care of that, so it's not such a burden," one speaker said, noting the assistance applies unless a project triggers tax collection.
Commissioners also discussed affordable workforce housing options. The Chair referenced information from Quentin Benyon with Vernal City about potential new mixed-use zones to allow smaller-footprint homes and help attainability. Staff said the state may assist with planning, zoning and coding to make housing more attainable for counties that need that support.
