The board announced two leadership hires for the 2025–26 school year, confirming Dr. Gobriel as principal of Hermosa View Elementary and Grace Yang as principal of Hermosa Vista Elementary. The appointments were approved 5–0 in closed session.
The board described Dr. Gobriel’s background as a program specialist and board‑certified behavior analyst with experience in Redondo Beach Unified School District and deep expertise in special education, inclusive practices and instructional leadership. The board said Grace Yang currently serves as a program specialist in Redondo Beach and has led IEP teams, supervised instructional staff and supported literacy and behavior practices aligned with the science of reading. “Doctor Gobriel has been appointed as the principal of Hermosa View Elementary School,” the Chair announced during the meeting.
The board thanked interim and departing site leaders, noting Miss Overbeck’s and Miss Skora’s service at the campuses. Both hires are expected to join the district ahead of the 2025–26 school year; the board indicated it will work with site teams to support a transition plan and onboarding.
