City reauthorizes membership in Illinois Public Works Mutual Aid Network

The council approved a resolution to reauthorize the city's participation in the Illinois Public Works Mutual Aid Network (IPWMAN), which staff described as a network of more than 400 Illinois government agencies that provide and receive emergency assistance during disasters.
"The agreement formalizes this mutual aid allowing communities to share personnel, equipment and other resources," City Manager Mr. Hansen said, noting the city originally joined in 2010 and the current annual fee of $250 has not changed. Staff told the council the revised agreement contains no operational changes and recommended approval to remain a member of the network.
With no questions raised, the council voted 6–0 to reauthorize membership. The measure keeps the city eligible to request or supply assistance in emergencies under the network's terms.
