Council approves $18,180 change order for transit dispatch software, total contract $95,009.36

The Galesburg City Council voted 7–0 Dec. 16 to approve a change order that adds coverage for additional transit fleet vehicles to the city's new dispatch software and hardware contract.
Mr. Hansen told the council that during implementation staff found the entire fleet had not been included and the vendor provided an updated quote increasing the cost by $18,180 (approximately 23%), bringing the contract total to $95,009.36. “During implementation of the new dispatch software for the city's transit fleet, it was discovered that the entire fleet was not included in the software and hardware necessary to track all of the vehicles,” Hansen said. He added there are sufficient funds within the Rebuild Illinois Round 2 grant to cover the expense and that final implementation is contingent upon Department of Transportation approval.
Council approved the change order by unanimous roll call. The vote authorizes staff to proceed with the vendor update subject to grant oversight and DOT sign-off.
