Council approves equipment purchases and renews insurance policies

For the golf division the council approved a bid from Rebels Turf and Tractor for a new John Deere utility vehicle in the amount of $41,009.00 including trade, with the traded backup unit to remain in the fleet. On the rotary mower, staff recommended accepting MTI Distributing's $89,005.80 bid (including trade) for a Toro Groundmaster 4000; staff said the Toro was recommended because of prior positive experience and warranty considerations.
On insurance, staff recommended renewal with the Illinois Municipal League Risk Management Association. Hansen summarized coverages and said the policies have a $10,000 deductible per occurrence for most lines and an annual premium of $474,081 effective Jan. 1, 2025; the council approved the renewal by roll call.
