Board adopts resolution authorizing $500,042.46 levy for Williams Unified School District

The Coconino County Board of Supervisors voted to adopt Resolution 2026-43, pursuant to ARS 15-992, to approve a recommended additional property tax levy of $500,042.46 for Williams Unified School District No. 2.
County officials said the district under-levied in prior calculations and that this levy is intended to correct that under-levy. County Superintendent Cheryl Mango Paget presented the recommendation and introduced district representatives in the room: governing board president Steve Auld, acting superintendent Dr. Connie Hargreis, business manager Brianne Ford and legal counsel Nathan Schatz.
Supervisor Tammy Ontiveras moved to approve Resolution 2026-43; the board seconded the motion and approved it by unanimous voice vote. Chair Horstman said the decision was made in the best interest of Williams students and that the superintendent would continue to work with the district on implementation.
