"Our Native American outreach coordinator is Ray Daw, and he gives presentations to all the chapter houses about the upcoming elections," the recorder said, and noted radio ads in Navajo and outreach at local community centers. The recorder said the mobile unit visited 11 locations, recorded 73 in-person votes, 34 drop-offs and five provisional ballots at those stops.
Recorder and board members emphasized that the outreach and in-person mobile sites were designed to ensure access across large, rural portions of the county and to encourage turnout ahead of the general election.
