Owner Jackie Twisdell and architect Ashley Morris described TimberTech decking chosen for low maintenance and improved accessibility; Morris told the panel the product is "like Trex" and said she preferred TimberTech's appearance.
Commissioners asked for clarity on railing materials and finish. The committee included conditions that samples for paint, railing sheen and texture, exterior lighting locations/specifications and a landscaping plan be provided to and accepted by staff prior to issuing the blue placard. Commissioners emphasized sheen and texture as the criteria staff should evaluate when approving the railing product.
With those conditions inserted and a friendly amendment clarifying that the front elevation would not change, the committee voted to approve the application. The written decision will be adopted with the minutes and the staff will confirm the specified materials and details before construction.
