Attorney Curtis Massey presented the statutorily required public bonds and recommended the board accept them at amounts consistent with past practice and statutory guidance. Massey told the board that "The bond for the financial officer is set at $1,000,000" and noted statutory maxima for the sheriff and register of deeds.
Commissioner Wendy Jacobs moved to suspend the rules so the board could vote on the item; the motion was seconded and the board approved suspending the rules. The board then voted to approve the bonds for the sheriff, tax administrator, chief financial officer, and register of deeds. The chair declared the bonds approved.
Massey said the approved bonds will be filed with the register of deeds office and the clerk of court as required. The board took the action by voice vote with the motion moved and seconded during the organizational meeting.
