Resident urges more police enforcement at Church Street crosswalk by Town Hall

Susan Newberg of Church Street told the board she regularly sees speeding at the crosswalk by Town Hall and asked that whoever is responsible increase enforcement.
"Every morning, I wake up and I see a police car sitting outside outside of Town Hall while cars just come Fleeting by... the cars are absolutely speeding, and there is no enforcement by the police," Newberg said. She said Church Street residents feel strongly that crosswalk safety is not being enforced and asked the board to address it "sooner rather than later."
The comment was recorded during the public-comment portion of the June 25 meeting; no staff presentation or board response committing to specific enforcement steps was made on the record at that meeting.
