The body voted on a motion to adopt the calendar change and the 9:30 a.m. start time; the motion passed without opposition.
Supporters said two full three‑body sessions would preserve county‑school relationship building while avoiding a proliferation of extra meetings. One member urged scheduling joint sessions that align with budget discussions so shared fiscal impacts can be addressed earlier. The clerk noted the August 12 meeting already appeared on the county calendar and could become an all‑three meeting without adding a separate date.
The council and county will proceed with the updated calendar and return to the body if staff needs to present a formal proposal detailing how the school board will be integrated into the two joint sessions.
