Committee recognizes airport CEOs and schedules economic-impact presentation

The committee welcomed the CEOs and executive directors of Tennessee's five largest airports and said the airports, which the chair said are responsible for tens of billions in statewide economic activity, will be invited to give a fuller presentation on their economic impact.
Early in the hearing Chairman Howell introduced the chief executives and executive directors from the state's largest airports and thanked them for attending; the chair said the airports contribute substantially to Tennessee's economy. "They are the executive directors of Tennessee's 5 largest airports... these people are responsible for generating about close to $30,000,000,000 in economic growth for Tennessee every year," the chair said.
Committee members thanked the airport leaders and Representative Bridal singled out April Cameron of the Chattanooga Airport for praise. The committee said it plans to invite the airports back soon for a focused presentation on the sector's statewide economic impact and to discuss how airports interact with transportation and safety planning.
