The committee approved SJR0657, a resolution filed on behalf of Nashville that would permit the city to move forward with dedicated bus lanes on certain state roads. Chairman Howe said Nashville voters approved the 'Choose How You Move' initiative with 66% support in 2024; the resolution would allow Nashville to apply for federal grants and take next steps for dedicated bus lanes.
The committee added an amendment to the resolution before voting. Representative Behn framed the resolution as the General Assembly "doing its job, honoring the voters already decided in Davidson County," and urged colleagues to support it. The committee passed the resolution 16–1; it will move to Calendar and Rules.
