Interim city manager announces EOC monitoring for tropical system and ribbon-cutting; recognizes retiring director

Interim City Manager Alan Bogart opened the staff-report portion by recognizing Development Services Director Jennifer Thomas Gomez for 20 years of service to the city and thanking her for her dedication. Council and staff offered thanks for her long tenure.
Bogart said the city’s Emergency Operations Center has been moved to Level 3 monitoring because of a tropical depression moving toward the area and that the city will know by Wednesday the likely track and any impacts. He also reminded the council of the Freedom Tree Park ribbon cutting scheduled for Saturday, July 25 at 10 a.m. and said the city will keep the community informed about the storm and event scheduling.
