The Chippewa Falls Common Council voted to adopt Ordinance #2026-09 on July 7, 2026, changing Parcel #22908-3114-753690001 (northwest of the 1st Avenue and State Avenue intersection) from R-1B Single-Family Residence District to R-2 Two-Family Residence District. Council President Paul Nadreau presided; the council first voted to suspend the second-reading requirement under Ord. 2.24 and then approved the ordinance on roll call with all members present voting aye (Kiefer, Dixon, Nadreau, Normand, Monarski, Marr, Hull).
Director of Public Works and Utility Manager Brandon Cesafsky provided an overview of the plan during a public hearing opened by Mayor Jason Hiess. Mark Erikson, representing the project, appeared and was available for questions; no additional members of the public spoke during the hearing. The minutes record that the council moved directly from the public hearing to the suspension of rules and final vote.
