Jennifer Thomas Gomez announced at the July 8 Missouri City Planning and Zoning Commission meeting that she will retire at the end of this month after more than 20 years with the city. Chair Pearson read a certificate of appreciation recognizing “20 years of dedicated and distinguished service to the city of Missouri City.”
Gomez told commissioners, “After more than 20 years, with Missouri City, I've decided to retire at the end of this month.” Commissioners and new and returning members offered brief tributes and thanked Gomez for her knowledge and guidance; several described her as a source of institutional memory and reliable staff contact. The commission presented a certificate of appreciation during the staff‑reports portion of the meeting.
