Residents say unfinished promenade work denies beach access to elderly and disabled

Paul Littery, Brigantine 2nd Ward councilman, told commissioners the promenade is important to elderly and wheelchair users and said they are effectively denied access while ramps remain closed or incomplete: "The promenade is basically used by the elderly, the infirm, handicapped wheelchair people who can't make it to the beach." Residents cited a full year since the storm that destroyed one entrance and asked for a temporary fix to restore safe access for the rest of the season. County staff said design work and manufacturer parts are in process and that they will pursue a timeline and additional contractor coordination.
