Committee advances bill allowing interstate travel for school bus drivers on controlled diabetic medication

The sponsor described House Bill 1546 as a cleanup measure allowing school bus drivers on controlled diabetic medicine to cross interstate lines while continuing their routes as long as their condition is in check. "Simply put, this bill allows for school bus drivers in the state of Tennessee who are on controlled diabetic medicine to be able to pass across, interstate lines, as long as they have their condition, in check," the sponsor said.

The committee voted without recorded opposition and the clerk reported the bill passed by committee (reported 18 ayes, 0 nos); the bill will proceed to the calendar for further consideration.
