DPW prepares for Art Crawl and holiday events as Linwood drainage Phase 1 nears start

DPW staff told the Board that the new Yoakum St. Park is completed though the berm behind the park still needs finishing. Work on Linwood drainage (Phase One) was scheduled to begin Nov. 29 with Phase 1 construction start dates discussed as Dec. 5 or Dec. 6 and Phase 2 pricing to be presented at the next meeting.
Staff described preparations for the holiday season, including setup for the Art Crawl on Dec. 8 and coordination for the Village Green tree lighting on Dec. 3 at 6:00 p.m. and the Gerngras Park tree lighting on Dec. 6 at 7:00 p.m. Leaf crews were operating according to the map and weekly DPW assignments were summarized by Ken Tortoso. The Board also discussed purchase and operation plans for a new floor scrubber that will be used by DPW and the Fire Department.
