Farmingdale to reinstall electrified parking meters and trim EV charging costs in Lot 3

Officials reported that electrified parking meters are being reinstalled (work began Nov. 18) and that remaining conversions will be completed by McKay Meters. Separately, staff said the cost of new electric vehicle charging stations to be installed in Parking Lot 3 has been reduced by $1,000.
The Board also reviewed the outcome of an Altice/LIRR meeting on Nov. 20 about North Main Street and related utility work; the decision was to tunnel under the tracks to accommodate Altice and Altice will submit plans to LIRR. Staff said they will check Parking Lot 3 Blue Spruce trees to provide electric for holiday decorations, which will be solar powered where feasible.
