Water Department staff reported that sampling and testing at Wells 1–3 for the AOP/GAC installation continues and that Well 1–3 is now fully operational as the lead well. A new steel building to cover the GAC tanks at Well 1–3 was under construction with an expected finish around Nov. 15, 2024, and staff noted additional testing costs of approximately $16,000 per well for newly monitored contaminants.
PRI is developing a master schedule for completion of all wells (expected by May 1, 2025). The minutes record a committed $1 million through County Legislator John Ferretti to offset costs for the new water treatment systems, with $500,000 already received, and that Congressman Thomas Suozzi informed the Village of a $1.1 million commitment in the 2025–2026 federal budget (described in the minutes as not a reimbursement grant). Staff also reported work on WIIA grant status, evaluation of a ground tank roof and D&B analyses related to tank and antenna work, and the purchase of NSF/ANSI‑certified Brita pitchers for customers with galvanized services as part of Lead and Copper outreach.
