Council fills advisory boards and appoints alternates after executive session

Council approved multiple appointments across advisory committees and boards. For the Historical Resources Advisory Committee, council appointed Jaskar (Place 1), Matt Rivers (Place 2), Julie Johnson (Place 3), Kendra Walden (Place 4), Erin Pietrasek (Place 5), Susie Gully (Place 6) and Heather Jones (Place 7) to one-year terms beginning January 2026. The motion passed unanimously.
Council also appointed Maggie Witt as chairperson of the Animal Shelter Advisory Committee for a one-year term, again by unanimous vote. Later in the meeting, under an executive-session deliberation authorized by Texas Government Code Chapter 551, Subchapter D (§551.074), council reconvened and appointed alternates to two commissions: Board of Adjustment alternates Ahmed Al Hassan (Alt 1), Syed Musana (Alt 2), SK (Alt 3) and Michael Padilla (Alt 4); and Planning & Zoning alternates Jacob Coleman (Alt 1) and Amanda Turner (Alt 2). Those motions were recorded as passing unanimously.
