Residents urge council to consider golf‑cart ordinance for Willamette neighborhood

Steve Fearing, a Willamette resident and retired teacher, said he and neighbors submitted a draft ordinance and asked the city to study examples from other Oregon cities; he argued lower‑speed vehicles can reduce congestion, parking demand and provide access for people with walking challenges.
Mayor Bialystoski and staff said public comment is the appropriate time to raise issues for study, that staff will research state law on golf carts, and that the council can place the topic on a future work session if a majority wishes to pursue it.
