Murphy Chamber leader announces new chair, executive director and holiday events

Luke Trahan, outgoing chairman of the Murphy Chamber of Commerce, used public comment time to introduce Paul Brown as his successor and to introduce the chamber’s new executive director, Ty Lake. Trahan said he will remain involved with the chamber and encouraged residents and businesses to engage with upcoming chamber activities.
Trahan outlined several holiday and networking events: a business card exchange Thursday morning at Murphy Community Center (205 North Murphy Road) from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.; the Jingle Jog and reindeer dash at Murphy Central Park beginning at 8:30 a.m.; and a ribbon-cutting and grand opening for Arwa Yemeni Coffee on Sunday, Dec. 14, with festivities from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. “Anyone interested in meeting Ty should come on Thursday morning,” Trahan said, and he provided contact information for the chamber.
The presentation was limited to announcements and community outreach; no formal council action was required. The chamber update was received and council proceeded to other agenda items.
