The council approved an ordinance on first and second reading to amend the transient lodging tax code so the Oregon Department of Revenue can collect the city's TLT on the city's behalf on a quarterly schedule. Staff explained the change is a technical alignment necessary for the IGA the council previously approved.
The ordinance changes collection language from monthly to quarterly to conform with state practices and enables the state to implement the collection process. Councilors offered no substantive objections and the ordinance passed on second reading.
