Utility staff told the council the city uses a single vendor/software platform for utility collections, water and sewer billing and said the two windows under review are very similar, making consolidation straightforward. "The software we're using is the software we're using now for payload utility collections, water, and sewer," Utility staff said, describing the operational familiarity that would ease any module expansion.
Staff also described a sewer-line project and said the changeover yielded savings in other line items, producing an annual net savings figure cited by staff (spoken as "$2,300 a year") and that replacement materials are already on-site. The council did not take formal action on the software or sewer items during this meeting; staff indicated ongoing project work and recommended continuing the procurement and implementation steps.
