Council sets hearings for TIF amendment, approves lease consent and other routine resolutions

The Council approved several economic-development and procedural resolutions on June 15. Resolution 5142 calls a public hearing on July 20 to consider correcting a legal description and amending the OP Plaza TIF district plan after staff discovered an error in the original legal description. Staff said the correction will allow presentation of a full TIF-district ordinance on July 20.
Resolution 5126, to consent to a lease of a portion of the Edison OP office building, was updated in the packet to clarify the lessee’s legal name and affiliate occupant (Spring 11 LLC) and was approved by roll call. Earlier in the meeting, staff also introduced Resolution 5137 to set a public hearing on establishing organized solid waste and recycling collection service; Council moved and approved setting the hearing.
All three items were approved with roll-call votes and were characterized in staff remarks as procedural steps to correct legal descriptions and permit administrative consent to leases and future hearings. The public hearing dates and further ordinance language will be presented at the next meeting cycle where required.
