The Board received a broad report from the Building Department covering several downtown and commercial items. ZBA‑approved plans and a Board‑approved Special Use Permit were reported for a 7‑11 and Sunoco; construction drawings are on file and a permit has been issued but is awaiting pickup. Verizon submitted revised plans to install communications equipment on the Palmer’s Shopping Center clock tower; the special‑use‑permit hearing for that proposal was rescheduled for Feb. 3, 2025.
Trustees noted a number of incoming and ongoing business matters: The Pour Authority has a lease executed for space adjacent to 335 Main Street and an application is anticipated; a seafood restaurant plans to occupy the former Creations Pizza location (follow up on a special‑use permit will be required). The Board also identified outstanding special‑use or legalization needs for Barnyard and Casa Stellina (architect working on plans to legalize expansion). Enterprise Rental Car is reported open with a certificate of occupancy issued, and the Nutty Irishman and 317 have a dumpster that needs a second guard pending delivery.
The Building Department asked for additional quotes to outfit department vehicles and reported handling an excessive‑noise complaint regarding L.I. McGrath’s; the Board allowed entertainment in the rear of L.I. McGrath’s for a Chamber ribbon‑cutting to avoid rush‑hour traffic impacts. Staff will continue following up on special‑use permits and compliance.
