City staff updates council on CIP projects; recommends reallocating funds after inspections

Staff reported progress on trail, street and water projects, said McCreary and the 2025 street-panel replacement are underway, and recommended deallocating about $511,000 from specific waterline projects after inspections and reallocating roughly $411,000–$412,000 toward design for Timbers-area sewer and street rehab.
City staff updated council on the Capital Improvement Program on Feb. 3, reporting completed neighborhood work and several active projects. The 2025 street-panel replacement is about 75% complete with expected May finish; Kenny Drive work is finished and punch-list closeout is underway. Staff said FM 544 pedestrian-bridge plans have TxDOT approval and will undergo a federal 6–8 week review before bidding in March 2026.
Staff reported targeted inspections on several water and sewer blocks (potholed and TV-inspected mains) and found the mains to be PVC and in good condition. Based on those findings, staff recommended deallocating approximately $511,000 from several small water/sewer projects and reallocating about $411,000–$412,000 to design work to rehabilitate sanitary sewer and streets in the Timbers area; a resolution for that reallocation was placed on the consent agenda.
