At the Discover Chelsea car show, Vinny Hernandez said he built a 1996 Honda Civic with his daughter and that the car is intended for family and children’s shows.
"I did this car for my daughter because she's blind in 1 eye, and my car comes. Her name is Los Angeles. We go everywhere. We go to a lot of shows for the kids," Hernandez said, describing how his 12-year-old painted the vehicle and that the family attends shows to support kids.
Hernandez told attendees he had worked on the car for five years with his children, and he said the project is meant to encourage youth participation in car culture. The car was subsequently named best in show by event judges.
