Jennifer Hazell, Executive Director of the Chelsea Chamber of Commerce, opened the 2026 Discover Chelsea car show with thanks to the City of Chelsea and municipal partners and a request for a moment of silence to honor a community member.
"We are about to start the judging competition portion of this event. It'll start at about 03:30," Hazell said as she thanked the Chelsea Police and Fire departments, local businesses including John's Pizza and Bella Isla, and vendors such as Las Toxicas and the Cinco de Mayo food truck.
Hazell asked attendees to join a brief tribute to Eric Vega, owner of Sky Mile Towing, who she said had donated time and equipment to help the Chamber at prior events. She invited Felix Vega to come forward and said the car show was being held loosely in his brother's honor.
Organizers said the event included dozens of participants from the Merrimack Valley and local car clubs, vendor tables and a live performance scheduled later in the program. Hazell closed by encouraging attendees to support vendors and stay for the remainder of the festivities.
