Neighbors press for injunctive relief after alleged unauthorized tree clearing

Rick Carpenter briefed commissioners on code violations at parcels 1611501 and 1600457, including allegations of tree removal beyond the scope of approved disturbance permits, issuance of a stop work order and the owner's failure to provide a required survey documenting approved versus actual disturbance. Carpenter said the owner recently obtained new permits and staff received an email indicating active movement toward remediation, but documentation remains outstanding.
Several neighbors spoke during public comment. Rosanna Thompson described lost shade and privacy and urged revegetation before permitting new construction; Paula Richardson called the cleared lots a fire and erosion hazard and asked for expedited enforcement; Peter Thompson, speaking on behalf of Brian Proctor, alleged a pattern of unlawful clearing on multiple builds and asked that existing ordinances and a building moratorium be enforced. Commissioner Patrick Bryant moved to approve seeking injunctive relief against the parcels if there is no actionable progress within 30 days; the motion passed unanimously.
