Township to seek bids to demolish unsafe structure at 204 Great Bearway Drive after court order

Township solicitor David told supervisors the court approved an agreement with property owner Tiffany Romy that required reconstruction to begin by July 1. A July 2 inspection by code enforcement found no work had begun, and the township filed an affidavit that allowed it to take over the work and seek contractors to perform demolition and site restoration.
David said the township contacted Keystone Fence to secure the property and will compile bid specifications for demolition of the chimney and foundation, removal and filling of the pool, and site restoration. Engineer explained a structural inspection will occur before bid specifications are finalized, with bids likely solicited in September and work potentially starting between October and December. David noted a fire-escrow account contains $217,700 that can be used for the demolition.
