Council authorizes interlocal agreement for cloud-based evidence storage with county partners

The council authorized a resolution allowing the town to enter an interlocal agreement with the Clark County Sheriff's Office and the Clark County Prosecutor's Office for cloud-based storage of electronic evidence.
Staff explained that law enforcement agencies increasingly need secure cloud storage for data from electronic devices and that current physical storage practices are labor intensive and limited. "Clarksville will serve as a license holder and be the 1 signing the contract," staff said, explaining that the sheriff's office and prosecutor's office would reimburse Clarksville for their proportional costs. The council adopted the resolution and authorized the interlocal agreement.
Clerk Treasurer Stonecipher asked for a point of order to confirm which resolution number the council was voting on; staff and the clerk confirmed the numbering and the motion passed unanimously.
