BEA asks council to sponsor May 15 fundraiser; organizers describe youth 'Bay' programming

Representatives from BEA spoke at the council's March 18 work session, requesting sponsorship for their May 15 annual fundraiser and describing the organization's youth services. Shalise Stover, introduced to the council as the BEA representative, said the program runs a Bay center in Clarksville, provides programming in more than 50 schools across the region, and has Saturday programming that serves about 50 Clarksville youth.
"We're passing around our sponsorship levels... we actually reached our goal as far as covering all the expenses for the gala, so 100% of your donation will go right back into the program," Stover said. A BEA board member who identified herself as a BEA mother described personal experience with the program and recent expansions, including a new mothers' group and a mother‑daughter retreat. Council thanked the presenters and said staff would follow up on sponsorship possibilities.
