Council approves small annexations near McCullough Pike, Blackiston Mill Road and a zoning code cleanup

Council staff presented three related land-use items and the council approved all three by unanimous votes. Staff said the small parcel adjacent to 1019 McCullough Pike (about 0.11 acres) will be annexed and zoned West Riverfront District as part of the Origin Park development process.
Manager Beatty described a second annexation—property commonly known as 2830 Blackiston Mill Road and land adjacent to 2820 (roughly seven acres total)—and said staff recommends R1 zoning within Town District 4. A separate zoning ordinance (ZO-1) was presented to repeal several obsolete code sections after prior rezoning actions; staff explained the housekeeping measure and the council adopted it unanimously.
"Staff recommends the council approve ordinance 20 25 g o 9," staff said when introducing the McCullough Pike annexation, and the council subsequently approved first and second readings of the annexations and the zoning cleanup without dissent.
