Council recognizes long-serving parks volunteers, confirms merit-board appointments

Staff presented a resolution recognizing Paul Gibson for 37 years of service on the Parks Board; the council approved the resolution by voice vote. Gibson addressed the audience, recalling long-standing local recreation amenities and thanking the parks staff and council: "It has been 37 years of enjoyment," he said.
Staff also presented a resolution recognizing Ken Conklin for roughly 11 years of service in the parks department and later in administration; the council approved that resolution as well. The council confirmed appointments to the Police and Fire Merit Boards and invited the honorees forward for a brief presentation.
