Council amends Gateway Crossing tax abatement period; schedule unchanged

The Clarksville Town Council approved a resolution to amend the start of a tax abatement for property at 900 Eastern Boulevard in the Gateway Crossing Economic Revitalization Area.
Staff said the adjustment is required because county parcel-number changes meant the abatement was not properly applied to begin in 2020; the resolution shifts the 10-year abatement to run from 2024 through 2033 while leaving the deduction schedule unchanged. "With the modification to this, the abatement will begin in 2024 and run through 2033," staff told the council. The resolution passed unanimously.
No public comments opposed the change at the hearing earlier in the meeting; a formal resolution was approved during the new-business portion of the agenda.
