Sportsman’s Cove offers $10,000 as it seeks road vacations; council asks attorney to outline process

Attorney Smith noted that proper legal notice and the statutory process must be followed before any final action can occur. The council discussed whether the town’s comprehensive plan or vision plan addresses road fixes; resident Dennis Devore asked, “Isn’t it in our comprehensive plan to fix the roads?” (as recorded in the minutes).
Cllr Deaderick moved to have the town attorney prepare an outline of the legal process and a cost agreement to deliver to the landowner; Cllr Medeiros seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Council members said the draft process would return to the council for consideration after the attorney’s outline and any required notices are completed.
