Rosenberg Housing Authority presents annual report; authority says city pays none of its budget

Mayor introduced Dr. Larry Wilkinson, chairman of the Rosenberg Housing Authority, who delivered the authority's annual report for the fiscal year ended Sept. 30, 2025. Wilkinson emphasized the authority's federal funding and said the city contributes no local dollars to its budget: "the city of Rosenberg doesn't have to pay a cent," he said.

Wilkinson summarized several targeted programs, including veteran assistance, a mainstream program for seniors and a program for young adults leaving state care. He shared two success stories: a woman who trained as a dental hygienist and voluntarily left the program, and an 18-year-old who secured housing and employment. Council members commended the stories and asked only brief follow-ups; Wilkinson noted the authority was the only housing authority in Fort Bend County and outlined long-term funding differences compared with larger neighboring jurisdictions.
